Celebrate a special accomplishment with a thick cut of steak or broaden your palette with a taste of some of Colorado’s wild game. Hunters and meat lovers will appreciate the wide selection of meats on offer at Hunter’s Chophouse in addition to a variety of other menu items.
Decorated with rustic features, a meal at Hunter’s Chophouse feels like dining in a mountain lodge. The log-built booths are reminiscent of a log cabin, and chandeliers made from antlers hang from the vaulted wood beam ceiling. The stone fireplace provides a cozy feel in the winter, while oversized windows let in plenty of natural light and views over the Rocky Mountains and Lake Estes.
The Menu at Hunter’s Chophouse
Aged, hand-cut in house daily steaks and chops, along with unique wild game dishes are the stars of the menu at this family-owned establishment. A great introduction into the wild game meats of Colorado is given by starting out with the wild game sampler, offering a variety of game brats, including smoked buffalo, jalapeño elk, apricot boar, and pheasant paired with cheese, crackers, and raspberry chipotle sauce. Along with traditional steaks, you’ll find bison, elk, and yak among the meat entrees at Hunter’s Chophouse Estes. The bison hangar steak is a favorite, served up with barley risotto, seasonal vegetables, Leopold Brothers Whiskey mushrooms demi-glaze, and blue cheese crumbles, as well as the yak ribeye, with the yak locally sourced from The Yak Boys Farm. There’s no need to shy away from the Hunter’s Chophouse if you’re not a big meat fan, as there are also a handful of seafood dishes, burgers, salads, and pasta available.
Pair your meal with a glass of wine, available by the glass or bottle. They also have selection specialty cocktails and beers available, including some local Estes Park brews.
