You cannot spend a vacation in Estes Park without taking the time to have some water fun on Lake Estes. And the Lake Estes Marina, run by the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District, is there to provide you with the equipment you’ll need for a day at the lake.
Getting Out on the Water
At the marina, you can rent your choice of watercraft for a day of lake fun. Choose from one- or two-person kayaks, canoes, a stand-up paddle board, paddle boats for four, a deluxe fishing boat that also seats four, and pontoon boats for seven or ten passengers. And don’t forget to grab yourself some rods, reels, and if needed a fishing license for a day of fishing. For getting around on land you can also rent bikes and pedal carts at the marina. And don’t forget to buy snacks to keep your energy up! Boat rentals are closed for the rest of 2019, but outside non-motorized watercraft can still be used on Lake Estes.
Fun at the Lake Outside of the Water
You don’t have to get out on the water to have a great time at Lake Estes. Around this Estes Park marina are open spaces that are ideal for an afternoon picnic or where you can simply take a seat and soak in the sun, mountain air, and lakeside beauty. Lounge about, have more active fun with a rousing game of beach volleyball, or simply take a refreshing morning hike around the lake.
The Lake Estes Trail
Winter may mean the end of much the fun you can have at the lake, but the wonder of nature endures year-round and you can see much of Lake Estes’ beauty by taking this roughly four-mile trail. It winds around the lake and if you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of wildlife such as elk wandering out and about.
