Getting Around Estes Park

HomeAbout Estes ParkGetting Around Estes Park

With all of the things to do around the Estes Park area, from commuting through the town to making your way into the mountains to see the scenic mountain vistas, transportation is an important consideration. Private Estes Park transportation is the recommended way to travel about the area, and Denver International Airport offers rentals that you can drive out to Estes Park.

If you’re looking to park your car at your rental and don’t want to worry about having to ferry yourself around, or you flew in and don’t plan on renting a car, there are several services available to make sure you get where you need to go.

Shuttle Services

If you’ve flown into Denver International Airport, shuttle services are available from Denver’s Union Station, the Denver Greyhound Bus Station, and also the airport itself. The Estes Park Shuttle offers round trip and one-way bookings from $95 and $55 per person respectively, and it’s recommended you book your ride at least one week in advance to ensure you can reserve the proper time slot.

Local Taxi Services

Once you’ve made it to Estes Park proper and settled into your rental spot, there are plenty of options for getting around Estes Park. The heart of the town is only a few miles from the Estes Park Resort, so if you’re looking to walk and enjoy the fresh mountain air, it’s easy to walk to town and back.

Of course, if walking isn’t your style, the weather is a little rough that day, or you’ve had a long day and want to take it easy, you can make use of Estes Park Taxis, Lyft, or Uber to get around.

Shuttles to and From Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park offers shuttle service from the Estes Park Visitor’s Center and the Estes Park Fairgrounds parking lot into the park proper. Known as the Hiker’s Shuttle, you’ll be able to connect to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center where there are other shuttles available that offer Estes Park transportation to both the Bear Lake and Moraine Park regions of RMNP.

Always Consider the Weather

Though you won’t really have to worry about inhospitable weather when visiting during the warmer months, Estes Park does get its share of Rocky Mountain snow during the winter, so make sure you’re planning accordingly. If you’re planning on making the drive yourself, be sure that your car is equipped to handle the snow. Roads are serviced to be cleared of snow whenever necessary, but it never hurts to have four-wheel drive and chains in case of an emergency.

As always, remember to pack appropriate clothing, because it can get cold in the winter. Enjoy the Rocky Mountain air safely during the winter months and remember to dress warm! And contact us to learn more!
