Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ and Brew

Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ and Brew was opened 25 years ago in Estes Park by, naturally, a Dave. The restaurant has spread to five other locations in Colorado, each with its own rotating selection of draft beers on tap. Part of Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ and Brew’s success can be traced back to its signature barbeque sauce. Gluten-free and all natural, you can take a 16-ounce jar back to your cabin for $5.50.

Some of the favorites at Smokin’ Dave’s include the pecan-crusted trout with lemon-honey butter, the Southern fried catfish served with tartar sauce, the 21-day aged rib-eye, the chicken marsala, and the chicken fried steak. Or you could order one of 16 different signature burgers and sandwiches. And let’s not overlook the smokin’ platters, with your choice of one, two, or three meats. Pick from roasted half chicken, Carolina pulled pork, Texas beef brisket, Texas barbeque sausage, St. Louis pork ribs and Smokin’ buffalo ribs.

Family Meals

You can get just one meal meant to be shared with the whole family. There’s the Big Kahuna Belly Buster that feeds up to five to seven people and comes with a complete rack of St. Louis pork ribs, a whole chicken, half a pound of brisket, half a pound of pulled pork, four large sides, and six corn breads for $76. For a smaller party there’s the Not so Teeny Wahine at $38 for two to four people, with half a rack of St. Louis pork ribs, half a chicken, a fourth of pound of brisket, a fourth of a pound of pulled pork, four small sides, and three corn breads.

Pie lovers will be ecstatic over the chocolate peanut butter pie with delicious chocolate mousse and peanut butter chiffon, or the pecan pie made with a splash of Kentucky Bourbon. Chocolate lovers can also go for the fudge brownie with caramel and chocolate sauce, blackberries and ice cream; or the Creole bread pudding baked with bittersweet chocolate and pecans. And don’t forget about the warm apple cobbler!
